Después de 460 días de racha utilizando la app Duolingo para reforzar mi inglés, finalmente estoy notando un poquito más de dificultad porque la verdad hasta este punto todo el contenido me había parecido bastante básico, o por lo menos ya lo dominaba porque he tomado cursos de inglés con anterioridad, y es por eso que no había venido a compartir con ustedes mis avances en la app, porque simplemente estaba haciéndo una especie de repaso, aunque había indicado un conocimiento medio del inglés al registrarme en la app.
After a 460 day streak of using the Duolingo app to reinforce my English, I am finally noticing a little bit more difficulty because the truth is that up to this point all the content had seemed pretty basic to me, or at least I already mastered it because I have taken English courses before, and that is why I had not come to share with you my progress in the app, because I was simply doing a kind of review, although I had indicated an average knowledge of English when I registered in the app.
De momento estoy en la etapa 5, sección 3, y aunque básicamente son los mismos ejercicios, la dificultad va aumentando a medida que se avanza en las etapas, pero seguimos trabajando con las mismas tareas como la completación de oraciones, los cuentos, la selección de palabras escuchando el audio del mismo, y hace un tiempo incorporaron una sección donde un personaje de los de Duolingo realiza una entrevista a un invitado según el tema de la entrevista, y lo genial de este segmento es que todo es en inglés, lo que ayuda un montón a mejorar nuestra capacidad de entenderlo.
Por otro lado, el cuento cada vez es más largo, preguntas más extensas y justo ahora nos piden hacer una especie de mini resúmen al final, respondiendo la pregunta que te hacen y tienes un mínimo de palabras para ello, así que justo en este momento me está gustando bastante.
At the moment I'm in stage 5, section 3, and although they are basically the same exercises, the difficulty is increasing as you advance in the stages, but we continue working with the same tasks such as sentence completion, stories, word selection listening to the audio of the story, and some time ago they incorporated a section where a Duolingo character conducts an interview with a guest according to the topic of the interview, and the great thing about this segment is that everything is in English, which helps a lot to improve our ability to understand it.
On the other hand, the story is getting longer and longer, questions are longer and longer and right now we are asked to make a kind of mini summary at the end, answering the question they ask you and you have a minimum of words for it, so right now I'm liking it a lot.
Aparte de eso, tengo muchos logros y premios y algunas veces he logrado estar en el primer lugar de la división en la que me toca competir semanalmente, así que voy bastante bien, y justo ahora mi puntaje es de 61 lo que no está para nada mal.
Apart from that, I have a lot of achievements and awards and sometimes I have managed to be in the first place of the division in which I compete weekly, so I'm doing pretty well, and right now my score is 61 which is not bad at all.
Dicho esto, luego de todo esté tiempo puedo hacer una nueva review de la app, ya que hace un tiempo me pareció demasiado básica sobre todo para el nivel que seleccioné, y me fastidiaba bastante que no hubiese nuevo contenido, incluso en cuanto al vocabulario debo decir que he aprendido muy pocas nuevas palabras, sin embargo me ha ayudado muchísimo a afinar el oído, de hecho puedo sentarme a escuchar una peli en inglés y diría que soy capaz de entender entre un 70 y 80%, así que está bastante genial.
Por lo pronto, seguiré trabajando día a día para ver a donde me lleva esta aventura.
That said, after all this time I can make a new review of the app, because some time ago I found it too basic especially for the level I selected, and it annoyed me a lot that there was no new content, even in terms of vocabulary I must say that I have learned very few new words, however it has helped me a lot to sharpen my ear, in fact I can sit and listen to a movie in English and I would say I am able to understand between 70 and 80%, so it's pretty great.
For now, I will keep working day by day to see where this adventure takes me.
