Northern House Wren. Photographed in Salisbury, Vermont.
I got a new phone and decided to try out the camera on the wren nesting in one of my birdhouses.
I'm liking the camera. Its advertised specs are 5x optical zoom and 25x digital zoom.
Not sure about the quality of the digital zoom but at 5x it looks good.
So since this is a birding community... the northern house wren is very common in most of North America. We have had a nesting pair in this house the last couple of years. We built houses for blue birds but our yard draws more wrens and flycatchers. Maybe I need to put out some mealworms to pull in some bluebirds. Ironically enough I think the wren in this photo has a mealworm!
