Here are a few of this week's sightings for #featheredfriday

I finally got a decent shot of a wood pewee.

Due to the coloring I believe it is a Western Wood-Pewee with a Latin name of Contopus sordidulus. I also heard its unique call. You can hear them all over in the forest but because they are so small and kind of shy you rarely get a chance for a good shot of one.

I smelled an awful smell at a farm. But I saw this guy standing on top of a huge pile of manure. So I had to bear the smell and try and get more shots of this killdeer.

It appeared to be chasing large flies on top of all this chicken and cow poop.

Sadly I couldn't get a shot of it catching a horsefly. King of the hill for now lol.

We also went to a rapture rescue facility and sadly due to their tight knit steel enclosures it was almost impossible to get good photos of them. I was able to barely get my zoom lens to shoot through the mesh for this shot of a snowy owl. I have yet to see one in the wild yet even though they are around here.

Inside they had a sleepy Eastern Screech Owl, the lighting was a bit dim so I couldn't get a clear shot.

They had so many other interesting raptors but all my photos ended up like this because of the mesh.

Now for a usual sighting a great blue heron. I waited a while for it to catch something but it didn't get anything.

Here is a cardinal another usual sight with some kind of bug in its mouth. It's most likely a large cockroach.

That's all for now, more birds soon.
