Aren't these blackbirds the ones that like to nosedive on people passing by? :)

Yes during mating and nesting season they are super territorial. They go for the head usually and can even draw blood if they dive bomb you just right. I try and catch them when they dive bomb, I've only managed to barely grab one of their legs but someday I'll be able to catch one lol.
