Greetings friends.
May 12th. Morning. Winter continues. There is snow on the ground. I put another portion of sunflower seeds in the feeder because in the morning the birds were sitting in the trees and waiting for food.
I have new guests today. These are 2 Siskins. Who told them that I have a bird canteen? This is a very interesting point - how do birds of different breeds know that they can find food somewhere? They had never been here before and suddenly they arrived. Yesterday there were a lot of Common Chaffinch, but today there were few of them.
By the way, at the time of writing this post, these 2 small Siskin birds continue to fly at the feeder. They liked my feeder.
This is the first time I've seen such birds in my garden. The unusual spring of this year made the summer birds come to visit me at my tree so as not to die of hunger and cold.
By the way, it seems to me that this is a guy. He is brighter than the bird in the first two photos.
Here she is a cheerful pair of little yellow siskins! Or maybe it's not a girl, but a young young guy? I'm talking about the bird that sits on the left. Probably, the girl birds should already be sitting in the nest.
Yes, we need to resolve the issue of a new feeder for the new winter season. I noticed only yesterday that this little feeder-house is not made of plywood but of thick cardboard. He deteriorated in one season.
Well, the sun came out this afternoon and the snow began to melt. By evening, the snow had disappeared. The forecast shows 4 more cold nights with negative temperatures, but still, the Snow Queen has weakened and should leave our region for about 5 months.
