A Suttle Lake Walk

in Silver Bloggersyesterday
It was a blustery day but clear none the less. Time to get out for a little walk and explore and area I haven't been to much. The wind was whipping on this late spring day at Suttle Lake but there were still some charming views to be had. Join me for a little stroll around the lake.

From the docks you can see a couple geese taking refuge from the wind in the small cove.

slw-20.JPGFurther out on the dock there is a view of the choppy water out in the middle of the lake.

slw-21.JPGLooking back you see the boathouse. Inside is a small diner and a place to rent canoes to paddle around and enjoy the lake.

slw-3.JPGA view from the main beach near the lodge and some shots below of the incoming baby swells.

slw-6.JPGLeaving the beach we begin the walk around the north side of the lake.

slw-11.JPGLooking back toward the lodge the tip of Black Butte is visible.

This extremely tall leaning cedar tree was a little hard to capture in its entirety. The photo on the right is a 2 shot vertical panorama that I stitched together in Lightroom. It looks like another old fallen tree is keeping this cedar out of the lake... at least for now. 🙂

slw-15.JPGAt some point in time though I'm sure the cedar tree will end up floating artwork like these old trees.

slw-14.JPGA little better shot of Mt Washington hiding in the coluds.

Fabulous photos @oldmans, I enjoyed the video as well. It looks like a beautiful, tranquil part of the world!

Thank you! The mic on my little action camera is not very good. It did capture some of the wave sounds which is what I was hoping for. :)

It's absolutely beautiful. The lake, the water, the greenery besides the lake, the little sunshine and your photography...everything is so perfect.

Thank you! I'm lucky I get to go around and try to capture that beauty to some degree. :)

These views are spectacular... I didn't want to stop scrolling

I'm glad you enjoyed them. Thank you for stopping by! :)

Yes glad i did. You're welcome

Looks like heaven! Love it when the weather matches perfectly one's energy and makes their photos look flawless!

Thank you! It was a day to embrace the wind and after a while I didn't even notice it. Definitely an synergy of energy. :)

This is really beautiful sights to behold. One that brings peace a d tranquility not only to the mind, but to the soul

Well said. I definitely bring home that peace and tranquility after visits like this. :)

Wow, that's beautiful to know.

perfect place for a nice retreat, good fishing as bonus i'd imagine

I'm not a fisherman but I know the lake has a good reputation for fishing results.

A natural beauty. You can see that it is a place with a lot of peace and harmony.

Yes it is! I feel lucky to live around places like this. :)

Hehe I read the title as a subtle lake walk and was thinking to myself how you guys over there just cannot spell🤣 So I looked at the map and sure enough it is Suttle lake!

There is something special with pines and spruce trees beside water, that is my favourite inland scenery in Scotland.

It is a shame about the dead trees but they do indeed make for beautiful on lake art objects.

There is a place in our town called Suttle Tea. Another "subtle" play on words of the lake name. ;)

We are lucky to have 100's of those types of lakes at our disposal in the Cascade Mountains.

It is a shame but it is the circle of life.

Interesting writeup

Thank you!
