I absolutely agree with you about a garden that is fuss-free but still provides a lot of colour. We are so blessed to be able to do that here.
I enjoy pottering in my little herb garden which is planted in a raised bed, no strain on my old back ;)
We've gone right into autumn overnight, lovely and cool. The weather is really strange!

Somewhere in my fifties I realized keeping the garden looking healthy and happy was to go with plants that flourish without all the attention required.
This excludes the herbs, a small area to tend/defend regularly without using pesticides or would break they cycle of natural gardening.
Loving this cooler weather, no complaints after a lovely braai yesterday with family, happy Mothers Day!
