We Built a Tabletop RPG Reference Site for 26+ years of "Open Source" Gaming Content!
Hey Hive!
Our team has been quietly building something over the past year and it's far enough along that it's worth sharing. It is not a HIVE app. It's a tabletop RPG site.

What is it?
thecrazygm.com is an open-source gaming content (OGC) reference site for tabletop roleplaying games, primarily Pathfinder 1e and D&D 5e. Think of it as a searchable, linkable compendium of spells, monsters, feats, equipment, classes, races, and rules — all drawn from the official Open Game Content that publishers have released for free use.
If you have ever been mid-session and needed to look up what a spell does, or needed the stat block for a creature, this is the kind of site you reach for.

On top of the reference content, there are authoring tools — an encounter builder, NPC generator, adventure planner — for GMs doing session prep. These are currently in early access.
Nothing about any of that requires a blockchain. That is kind of the point. This is a normal, useful app for a specific hobby. Although HIVE actually does makes a few parts of it genuinely better.
Where HIVE can actually fit
1. Provably fair dice rolls
The Tavern is a section of our site where players can wager in-game gold on dice games and card games. Ten games are available right now and set to launch officially soon: coin flips, high card, dice duels, and a handful of others. Many of these we soft launched and tested months ago.
Every roll uses Hive block data as its entropy source. The randomness is not generated on our server — it is derived from the hash of a future Hive block that neither we nor the player can predict at bet time. After the game resolves, the player gets a proof link showing exactly which block was used and how the result was derived. Anyone can verify it independently.
This is the kind of provable fairness that is genuinely hard to do without a public blockchain, and HIVE's fast block times (three seconds) make it practical for a real game loop.

2. HIVE and HBD as a deposit method
The site has an in-game economy: gold and mithril, earned through play and redeemable for features. We actually have a way for users to fund their wallet by sending HIVE or HBD to the site account with their username as the memo. The deposit is detected on-chain, verified, and credited automatically, as originally announced here and here.
We can't be sure the future for HIVE payments, but its baked in already.
What we are not claiming
- This is not a HIVE dApp. Most users will never think about the blockchain.
- The dice proof system is opt-in to verify — you do not need to understand it to play.
- We are not trying to bring tabletop gamers onto HIVE. We are building for tabletop gamers who want a great tool, using HIVE where it earns its place.
Early access is open
The site is live and free to use. The reference library — spells, monsters, feats, everything — is public with no account required. The Forge tools and Tavern games require a free account.
