Among the dense green leaves, a beautiful and tiny fly perched peacefully on the edge of a leaf. When you think of flies, you probably immediately imagine a small creature that likes to visit trash cans, carcasses, and so on. Well, the fly I encountered was very different. It didn't like dirty places; it preferred clean and fresh places.
The fly was very beautiful. Look at its tiny body, reflecting a very beautiful sparkle, looking like a jewel fragment lost among the dense green leaves. The fly simply sat there, not chirping, not singing, let alone screaming for attention. But its charm caught my attention.
It seemed like the fly I encountered was enjoying the damp scent of the surrounding leaves while waiting for the sun to warm its body. As we know, when an insect's body temperature is unstable, it cannot fly far.
With a low body temperature, they can be threatened. They are unable to flee when predators approach. That's why insects appear so docile in the morning, like the one I encountered. I found this fly very early in the morning, the sun was just starting to shine, and the air was still very cold.
