Hi everyone! 🤎🐻🤎
Today I want to share our delicious lunch I cooked for my family. It's Pork Bistek. 🤤
On our way home last Wednesday, we passed by and bought fresh pork belly. I knew it would be perfect for this dish.
I can imagine its tenderness, juiciness, and flavorfulness. 😋
This is easy to make, has simple ingredients, and goes well with hot steaming rice.
So today I’m sharing exactly how I make mine, so you can try it too. 🥰
Ingredients:

• 1/2 kg pork belly
• 1/2 cup soy sauce
• 3 pieces calamansi
• 2 medium size onion
• black pepper
• a little oil for frying
• a pinch of sugar
• 1/4 cup water
Let's cook!

First, I marinate the meat. I put the pork slices in a clean container, squeeze all the juice from the calamansi, pour in the soy sauce, and add the crushed black pepper. I mix it well so every piece gets coated, and let it sit for at least 20 minutes so the flavor sinks in. You can make it longer if you still have time.

After that, I fry the pork. I heat oil in a pan and fry it in batches until it turns light brown on both sides. I set it aside on a plate when done.

Next, I slice the onions into rings and cook them until they get soft but still have a little crunch. Then I put back the fried pork, pour the leftover marinade, and add some water. I also add a tiny pinch of sugar, and let it boil for 3 to 5 minutes, until the sauce thickens.
And that’s it! 🎉
I serve it hot with plenty of steamed rice, and my family loves it. 💛

Until my next simple cook...
Thanks for the visit! Have a lovely day. Buh-bye. 💗🌸
