It has always been somewhat confusing to me about my strategy on my crypto investments. My crypto journey started almost at the same time with my Hive journey in 2017. Till then I barely had any knowledge and information about cryptos. My target at that time to invest in crypto was to have an X amount for money to fulfill my goals, then years went by and in the very first investment pocket I made a very big loss in crypto, which wiped out almost my entire portfolio. I was new then and did not have much of knowledge so I relied on other expertise but that gave me a very bad experience.
After this incident, self and hubby took matters in our control without any external reliability, and started managing it on our own. It was not difficult; I always repent why we did not do it in the first time itself. Anyways probably that had to happen, so it's a forgotten story. We reinvested again in 2021, after which in 2022 the peak cycle came, but it did not meet the target that I had set, and I was fixed in my mind that I will only sell once I reach my target value. I guess, I lost some opportunity with that mindset. After which the market went down and it's still been not very good.
Hubby keeps saying we should start selling at small spikes and then removing some profit. But I am always confused on this, I feel that selling off till my target value is not reached and then what if the market keeps moving up only and I do not get a chance to buy back again at lower price. This is the mistake I did with Solana. When it reached 280, I had to sell, but I was thinking it would cross 300 after that I will sell and, in the bargain, now Solana is back to 85 :-(.
It's not possible to time the market, so I am also planning to change my strategy now and start selling at every spike rather than waiting for that one final value, and just keep holding for years together. I feel with my current strategy probably I will never be able to achieve my goal, or it can be a very long wait. Also the altcoins are unpredictable, what runs in one cycle not necessary will run in the next cycle. Like Cardano was a good bet in the last cycle but now no one is talking about it. Probably with Solana also it can be the same.
With Hive my only thing is that I have put in many years of hard work and I do not want to withdraw it with the price of few cents, so unless it goes to a decent value I am going to hold it up and then let's see what futur holds for me.
