Introduction

We thought we would start writing and exploring poetry forms every week me and one of the others. Writing poetry and song lyrics and playing with words is always something we have liked doing so we thought why not do some more! So two of us are writing poems every week and we will see how it goes! We found the Tanks last week but had never heard of it so this week we though we would look at what it was, we have done the same subjkect before but the boring SUB wanted to do Spring and I said that was too obvious...

Poetry form
This week we are looking at the Tanka

This is the definition:

Tanka
The tanka poem is another traditional Japanese poetic form, which is slightly longer than the haiku. The tanka has 31 syllables over 5 lines, with a 5 – 7 – 5 – 7 – 7 structure. Like the haiku, the first part of the poem is descriptive, while the second section (usually the last two lines) is a reflection or realisation about the earlier part.

Title: Destroyer

It trample, destroys
brings fear to week joy to strong
Run oh dear oh dear,
prepared, who isn't always
This marks the end of cold nights

Odd thing

peculiar 6 legs
There always bound to their webs
So little and frail
There scare make the young oft bale
Though their fangs never make whail

Thank you very much for reading and all comments are greatly appreciated!
