Hi community!
Raphinha is the competition's top scorer with 11 goals, followed by French-Guinean Serhou Guirassy and Bayern's Englishman Harry Kane, who have 10 goals each.
The Champions League quarterfinal tie between FC Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund is packed with exciting events. The two teams with the most offensive prowess in the competition face off, with Hansi Flick's team scoring 32 goals, while Niko Kovac's team (previously with Nuri Sahin) has netted 28, the same number as Real Madrid and Bayern Munich. Barça is not only the most prolific team, but also has played the fewest matches, finishing in the top eight of the group stage and missing out on the play-offs.
But it's not just the Blaugrana and Yellows who stand out collectively in their offensive numbers. Both teams' rosters feature the top scorers in the continental competition: Raphinha and Guirassy. It will be a duel for goals and the Champions League top scorer, not to mention Robert Lewandowski, who is also in this small group.
Raphinha has scored 11 goals in 10 matches, making him the only player in the entire tournament to exceed the average of one goal per game. Franco-Congolese Serhou Guirassy precedes him with 10 goals, the same as Harry Kane. Bayern Munich's English striker has a better average (0.91 to 0.83) than the Borussia Dortmund striker, having achieved it in one fewer match.
Raphinha has scored in seven of Barça's ten matches in this season's Champions League. Only against Monaco, Brest, and Atalanta has the Brazilian failed to find the target, although against the Italians he did provide a brace of assists (he has five in the competition, meaning he has been directly involved in 16 goal-scoring opportunities).
He netted the hat trick against Bayern Munich, and the braces against Benfica (in the group stage in Lisbon and in the second leg of the round of 16 at Montjuïc). It was, in fact, his last goal for Barça, having failed to score in either La Liga or the Copa del Rey since.
Guirassy, who did score in his last match, despite being a substitute in the 4-1 thrashing of Freiburg. The Arles-born forward, a Guinea international, has scored 25 goals for Dortmund this season (two fewer than Raphinha), 10 of which have come in the Champions League. He scored twice against Barça in the Blaugrana's visit in mid-December (one a penalty and the other from open play). He has also netted twice against Celtic and Shakhtar Donetsk, and has scored against Club Brugge, Dinamo Zagreb, Bologna, and Sporting CP in the play-offs, but has gone three consecutive Champions League matches without scoring.
