Hi community!

The legendary Barça striker is the first player to score more than 10 goals with three different clubs in one edition of the major European tournament.

Robert Lewandowski is having an extraordinary season. At 36 years old, FC Barcelona's legendary Polish striker has scored an impressive 40 goals so far this season in all official competitions, with eight La Liga matches, a Cup final, and, for now, a Champions League game secured. It is precisely in this major European tournament that the Barça number 9 has already achieved, after scoring two goals against Borussia Dortmund in the 4-0 quarterfinal first leg, what no one has ever done before: surpassing the 10-goal mark in a single Champions League season with three different clubs.

This record is just one more achievement among the many accrued by a striker who, at such an advanced age for elite football, very few can match it, and even fewer with the levels of performance the Polish striker is showing in a memorable season. So far, Lewandowski has scored 11 goals in as many matches in the current Champions League season.
He previously surpassed the ten-goal mark while playing for Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich.

As Borussia Dortmund's number 9, Lewandowski scored 10 goals in the 2012-2013 Champions League, in which the team then coached by Jürgen Klopp reached the final after having eliminated Real Madrid, with 4 of those 10 goals scored in Dortmund by the current Barça number 9.

Already in Munich, Bayern benefited from Lewandowski's impressive accuracy on the big European stage in two seasons in particular. The first was in the 2019-20 campaign, in which the team managed by Hansi Flick, now Barça's coach, won the treble. On the second occasion, Lewandowski again reached the ten goal mark in the 2021-2022 Champions League.

"A striker always has to think about scoring goals, but if we play well as a team, it's easier for me," said Lewandowski after his brace against Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday, which gives him 99 goals for Barça in his third season at the club. He's also added 20 assists in his 138 appearances for Barça. These are impressive numbers at this stage of a career, only comparable to those of legends.
