Andreas Christensen is not getting better. He has been injured again! The Danish international was given the all-clear last Wednesday and this morning he suffered an injury to the soleus muscle of his right leg in the last minutes of the session, which he was unable to complete. Bad luck is following the former Chelsea player. The player will be out for four months according to the medical report issued by the club.
Christensen is back in the infirmary after having officially left it just three days ago, although he had already been working with the group for two weeks. The versatile 26-year-old footballer was set to be the big surprise in the squad for the match against Real Sociedad, but he will finally be out due to this new injury.
The former Chelsea player has only participated in one match this season: the opening game of the season, the one between Barcelona and Valencia in the first LaLiga match. But his Achilles tendon problems, which he had been suffering from for many months, forced him to stop. He underwent surgery. But he could already see the light at the end of the tunnel. He had been working with the group for two weeks and this past Wednesday, at last, he was given the all-clear. But his joy was short-lived.
The person in charge of reporting the relapse was Hansi Flick, who ended the press conference prior to the match against Real Sociedad by announcing the injury.
The club is very upset with this relapse of Christensen, a player who can move both as a centre-back and as a midfielder. The Dane has a contract until June 2026.
See You soon!
