Hi community!

The process of planting the grass, which will last approximately 10 weeks, has already begun with the removal of the sand from the works and the installation of the drainage systems and will end in mid-April.

The execution of the roof will be done when the 2025-26 season ends, as MD announced, without affecting the general conditions of the stadium or the capacity and to guarantee the normal development of the competition next season.

FC Barcelona will explain on Tuesday (6pm/Barça One) details of the works at the Spotify Camp Nou in preparation for its upcoming reopening in an information session for club members led by the institutional vice president, Elena Fort, and the head of operations at Espai Barça, Joan Sentelles. Both will report on the current status of the works carried out by Limak Construction and the details of the partial reopening of the stadium.

In this regard, the Catalan club has announced on its website that the objective remains "to play official competition matches again this season, with a partial capacity of more than 60,000 spectators." However, it clarifies that "any calendar forecast is subject to review depending on the progress of the works at Espai Barça."

On the other hand, the area of the pitch was increasingly cleared for the installation of the grass. So much so that the club reports that it has already started the work for this: "The process, which lasts approximately 10 weeks, consists of removing the sand from the works, installing the drainage and then planting the new grass, a task that is expected to be completed in mid-April." In this way, the Spotify Camp Nou could be ready for a hypothetical first leg of the Champions League semi-finals (29-30 April) and the last two days of the League against Real Madrid (10-11 May) and Villarreal (18-19 May).

In the briefing on Tuesday, Fort and Sentelles will detail some of the unforeseen events that have delayed the work. The club advances on its website that "they have been caused by factors such as the availability of materials, the lack of qualified labour and work not initially planned, aspects that have generated modifications in the execution schedules, very tight from the beginning."

The Barcelona club is waiting to receive municipal permission after requesting from Barcelona City Council "authorisation to work six days a week and 24 hours a day, always respecting labour regulations and minimising inconvenience to neighbours". Barça points out that "currently, the project involves 3,000 workers".

See You soon.
