Girls day in cafe / [TheCoffeeShopPrompt 129]

A big hug, greetings and kisses to all the coffee lovers who are navigating through the blockchain at this hour. It's always a pleasure to return to #cinnccf, a community that welcomes us with a warm and aromatic greeting.

Today I want to share with you the memory of a morning that still beats in the middle of my chest, like a bird that refuses to leave the nest.

One night we decided to call for a "Girls' Day" with @neuropoeta, Liannet Cheong (the little Chinese girl) and me. So, the next morning we met at the Hotel Plaza de Camagüey, a place I invite you to visit if one day your steps take you over those cobblestones.

I recognize that @neuropoeta and I are a bit "English" when it comes to timing. We never arrive late anywhere. So we had to wait for our beloved little Chinese girl, while we did what we love most on those outings: taking photos.

When we were finally together, we entered the café. It's a cozy, cool, intimate place. We ordered a 'cortadito' and immediately began to catch up on our personal matters.

Mischievously, we glanced at the bartender who was humming a melody amplified through the café's sound system. I don't remember exactly which song it was, but I know it was pleasant. Then we focused back on ourselves and the sorrows that burdened our souls.

A thin smoke rose from the coffee cup and for some reason, the aroma it gave off made us feel a 'silly' and contagious joy.

We talked, laughed, took photos, glanced at the bartender again, and laughed once more. We were girls at that moment and no problem was big enough.

After the coffee, we headed to the Ateneo Vietnam Bookstore where we met some friends from guaimareños... and we had coffee again!

We said goodbye to them and walked slowly through Republica, as if we didn't want the stroll to end.
A silence, which felt more like a scream, settled among us. When we reached the point where each of us would take a different path, we hugged softly and said "I love you". And of course, the cheeky question that Chini always asked me couldn't be missed: "But you love me more, ¿right?" 🤗. They would love her if they could get to know her one day.

We didn't know it, but that would be the last day we would share time like that, just the three of us.

What a surprise to see these images here, right at dawn! I remember that day as if it were today... those days when we woke up happy because we were going to meet and do our thing, have coffee, and forget about the world (or fix it)... Turns out the days used to be beautiful... but I've never gone back to that café, it's not the same anymore...

It will never be the same. Every place we sealed with our hug now feels empty and sad...they no longer look the same as before.
