Today’s breakfast will be some delicious tequeños, but made with oat flour mixed with self-rising wheat flour. This variation is not only delicious but also very nutritious. Oats have become one of my favorite ingredients in the kitchen. These tequeños turned out quite soft, fluffy, and with an extraordinary flavor, plus they had the added bonus of melted cheese inside.

Ingredients:

  • 100 grams of oat flour
  • 50 grams of self-rising wheat flour
  • 50 grams of hard cheese for grating
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil
  • 1/2 cup of water

Preparation:

I poured the water and a pinch of salt into a bowl and gradually added the oat flour. I kneaded it thoroughly and added the wheat flour; when the dough stopped sticking to my fingers, I knew it was ready.

Then I cut the cheese into thick, long sticks. It was time to roll out the dough with a rolling pin and cut strips to wrap around the cheese. The idea was to cover each stick completely.

I heated a skillet with enough oil to fry the tequeños. I cooked them over medium heat for about eight minutes, keeping an eye on them to make sure they turned out golden brown—I love them crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside.

In total, I enjoyed eight delicious tequeños, which I washed down with a latte. Every now and then, I treat myself to something like this to make my taste buds happy.

El desayuno de hoy serán unos deliciosos tequeños, pero de harina de avena mezclados con harina de trigo leudante, esta variante además de ser deliciosa es muy nutritiva. La avena se ha convertido en uno de mis ingredientes favoritos en la cocina. Estos tequeños quedaron bastante suaves, esponjosos y con un sabor extraordinario, además tenían el plus del queso derretido en su interior.

Preparación:

En un envase coloqué el agua, una pizca de sal y poco a poco agregué la harina de avena. Amasé muy bien y añadí la harina de trigo, la masa se despegó de los dedos, allí supe que estaba lista.

Luego piqué el queso en palitos gruesos y largos. Llegó el momento de aplanar con el rodillo y sacar tiras para enrollar. La idea era cubrir cada palito.

Coloqué un sartén con suficiente aceite para freír los tequeños. Los cociné a temperatura media por unos ocho minutos, supervisé para que quedaran bien doraditos, me encantan crujientes por fuera y esponjosos por dentro.

En total pude disfrutar de ocho tequeños deliciosos, los cuales acompañé con un café con leche. A veces me doy estos gustos para que mi paladar sea feliz.
