I never thought I would make such a big deal out of a simple act of love but I've come to realize that I'm not just struck by the act but by the absolute perfect timing of the event.

I recently wrote an examination that totally drained me. One day after another, I had to travel to a different location very early in the morning and somehow return home the same day but late at night, only to repeat the process again the next day. My last paper was on Friday and to culminate the paper, it rained cats and dogs that day. Guess who returned home drenched and tired at night? Me!
The next day I felt so fatigued. I literally stayed on bed till late in the afternoon and after walking around the house for about ten minutes, I went right back to bed. I was going through serious withdrawals because I was running solely on adrenaline and man-made glucose D for one full week. My head felt like it wanted to explode, literally. Need I talk of the blinding headache that radiated from my forehead to my teeth. Basically, I was going through a lot and just wanted to rest my heavy head.
Prior to his time, I had responded to my brother's text message. He basically wanted to find out if I was home because he knew I was writing exams in a different location. About an hour after I replied to his message, the young man casually sauntered into my room holding two packs of ice cream. He said “I bought ice cream for you” and I didn't know when I started giggling.
I giggled because the headache wouldn't let me laugh or shed tears of joy. Of course it wasn't any sort of fancy ice cream in a plate but that particular packet of ice cream meant the world to me at that moment.

I happily took the Fan-milk ice cream from him and immediately placed it on my right eye which was hurting like hell. We got into a brief conversation where I tried getting the motivation behind the ice cream but all he kept repeating was “I just saw ice cream and thought you'd need it”. He bought one for me and another for himself.
Did I get butterflies in my tummy? Yes but did I show this, of course not, hehe. I greatly appreciated the gesture.
I have two older brothers and when they're not busy arguing about why women are celebrated so many times a year; mother day, day of the girl child, mothering Sunday, etc, and men are not They are absolute darlings. They haven't just taught and shown me the beauties of life, but time and again, they've shown me that the little deeds done at the perfect time are worth more than grand gestures done at the wrong time.
