Shadows Under the Morning Heat
Walking under the morning sun these days already feels exhausting. Even at this time of the year, the heat in Cuba is becoming intense, and summer has not even fully arrived yet.
During a necessary stop along the way, I leaned for a moment against a wall. Behind it there was a tree and a utility pole, and the shadows they projected onto the ground immediately caught my attention. In the image, only the shadows of the branches and the pole can be clearly seen. My own shadow barely appears, almost blending into the pavement around it.
What the photo cannot truly capture is the overwhelming heat of that moment. That is something only those of us walking under this sun can fully understand. If the weather already feels this strong now, summer will probably be even harsher. So this shadow today also feels like a reminder: under the Cuban sun, finding shade is not a luxury — it is a necessity.
The photos were taken with my mobile phone, and for the English version I used Google Translate.

Sombras bajo el calor de la mañana
Caminar bajo el sol de la mañana por estos días ya resulta agotador. Incluso en esta época del año, el calor en Cuba comienza a sentirse intenso, y el verano todavía ni siquiera ha llegado completamente.
Durante una parada necesaria en el camino, me recosté un momento a un muro. Detrás había un árbol y un poste eléctrico, y la sombra que proyectaban sobre el suelo llamó de inmediato mi atención. En la imagen solo se distinguen claramente las sombras de las ramas y del poste. Mi propia sombra apenas aparece, casi mezclándose con el pavimento alrededor.
Lo que realmente la foto no puede transmitir es el tremendo calor que hacía en ese momento. Eso solo podemos entenderlo quienes caminamos bajo este sol. Si desde ahora el clima se siente así de fuerte, probablemente el verano será aún más intenso. Por eso esta sombra también parece un recordatorio: bajo el sol cubano, encontrar sombra no es un lujo, sino una necesidad.
Las fotos fueron tomadas con el móvil y para la versión en inglés utilicé el traductor de Google.
