Growing up and understanding life, I have come to realize that there are some essential lessons that needs to be taught to children that shapes them and make them better people in our society.
I was taught back in school that the family is the smallest unit of the society, that's why it's important to raise good kid from home, home is where upbringing begins, you give them the best training at home so they don't become a threat to the society.
Any value an adult possesses today, started from home, because we start learning from home, kids learn respect from home, kids learn kindness and love at home, they learn positive and negative things from home. Home is always where learning begins.
These are values and most important lessons that we are responsible to teach our kids :
Kindness, Love and Compassion:
Teaching kids to be kind and compassionate doesn't make them weak, it's only teaches them to treat others with care ,love and kindness, if we have more kind people in our world today, there would definitely be less crimes.
Kindness is an important value that teaches kids to love people around them, including strangers, share to people and not be greed, it makes them grow in so much love and spread love everywhere they go to.
Honesty and Respect :
I don't trust people who aren't honest, and I believe many of us don't, it's important to teach children to be honest, because honestly makes people trust you, believe your words and keeps good people around you.
Teach them that truthfulness and Honesty are important values, that makes them better people, respected citizens and brings the right persons around them.
Also to be respectful, to their elders and their equals, respect is a good value to inculcate.
Being Responsible and Hardworking:
Teach kids to be responsible, act responsible, live a responsible life and the important of having a responsible job.
It's our job the make them understand the value of being responsible, and that by being a responsible adult, they watch and learn from too.
Because kids learn from watching us too
It's also our job to make them learn that success don't come by resting all day, hardwork is the key to success in life, hardwork is the key to good grades in school, successful career and good business.
And also make them understand that failure is part of learning, they shouldn't give up because of their failed experience, failure is part of learning and it's meant to make them stronger.
Practicing Self Discipline and Forgiveness:
Children should understand that they would be offended by friends and family, regardless of the debth of the offense, they should learn to forgive and let go.
Also, practicing self discipline, even when they are pushed to react a certain way, they should hold back those feelings.
Communication and Teamwork:
It's important to teach children how to communicate to others, also communicate their feelings, communicate when there's a misunderstanding and also learn to work as a team, maintain healthy competition and learn from others.
