The Go-Go's were an iconic American all-female rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1978.

Q Why trailblazers?
A They were the first successful all-female band to write their own songs, play their own instruments, and have a No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart.

And their lead vocalist was Belinda Carlisle .... say no more and let's dive in to some of their tunes!

You gotta love those 80s hairstyles!

"We Got the Beat" is I think The Go-Go's signature song.

It's a super-catchy new wave anthem released in 1981 and showcases their energetic blend of pop and punk.

An earworm?

You have to love those driving drums, guitars, and the one and only Belinda Carlisle's infectious vocals.

The song's lyrics are simple but catchy, all about the joys of dancing and having a good time.

The Go-Go's - Lust To Love

"Lust To Love" was released as the second single from their debut album Beauty and the Beat in 1981. Became a top 40 hit I believe.

It is also one of their most played songs, I like it as it fast-paced with an upbeat tune.

The lyrics explore the theme of lust and infatuation with Belinda Carlisle expressing her desire for someone she can't have. Quite ironic coming from her 🤣

The Go-Go's - Our Lips Are Sealed

Last up, well what happens on Hive stays on Hive!
