Spring is coming! The first blooms are opening on our star magnolia trees.
I love the tiny hint of a green leaf showing on this catkin.
The star magnolia is a hardy, northern relative of the famous southern magnolias so loved in the southern US states.
As these white flowers open up there is a bit of pink coloring.
These trees will be covered with flowers soon as you can see from all the not yet opened catkins in the background of this photo.
The magnolias in our yard are facing south and thriving. Thanks to the previous owners that planted these and got them established for our enjoyment 🙂
Lovely blue sky is also a sign of Spring in Vermont after the long Winter of gloomy, dark skies.
