Conditions were right the other day for frost on the trees. It made for a very pretty morning.

Nice contrast between the evergreen, pine trees and the frost on the bare maple and birch trees.

There was a bit of an inversion layer going on also trapping the smoke rising from the cabins.

More smoke from cabins trying to get a fire going and warm up.

The mountains across the lake are obscured by the overcast.

Here is the same view on a brighter day. I really love living with this mountain as a constant presence. Seeing it in all its moods. We have also hiked it from several different approaches, to the summit, to the rocky overlook now covered in snow, there are many trails on the mountain. We even hiked it once in January with microspikes to deal with the ice.

Here's my favorite (and familiar for those that follow my posts) view from across the lake.
