Good day hiver friends of this community! I hope you have a nice day. I’m here again to share another new blog about my life as an owner of our small business we started last June and my life a s a full-time mom taking good care of my family.
The weather today was a little bit gloomy because there’s a typhoon that is coming. We are now signal number one. To start my day, I always prepare my favorite breakfast nowadays which is a cup of cereals. I stop drinking coffee for a while for a change.
It’s morning again and I’m still thinking on what to prepare for our breakfast, meanwhile I check some of our vegetables just beside our house, we have some bitter guard, squash, eggplants, bottle guard and also some banana. It was really a big help to save from expenses if you have some vegetables around your house because the price of vegetables today at our place was really expensive.
My husband also takes good care of our children before going to his work, he was teaching our second baby on how to ride a bicycle meanwhile my first born is busy chasing the goat. He was indeed enjoying his self right now.
I choose to cooked some “embutido” for our breakfast and some instant noodles and add some moringa leaves and a piece of egg to make it healthier.
After our breakfast my son had a tantrums because he wants to eat some junk foods, that’s one of my dilemma now that we have a store, I really don’t want them eating unhealthy food, I comforted him saying that I will cook something delicious later.
Mornings here at province tends to be very fast as I checked the time it was already 8:30 in the morning. Since we opened our mini grocery store, I always woke up around 4:30 in the morning. As the saying goes “early bird catches the worm”. I also make sure that the surrounding was clean so every morning it was a routine to clean first because it’s good to see that your store was clean for our customers.
I also became busy managing our small business that is why I didn’t write any blog for a while here at hive. I’m still learning to manage our business, reading some tips to some business owners on how they make their business expand and grow. It was really important that when you have a business, watching some people who became successful on their business because for me it gives me motivation to keep on moving forward.
Ever since we started our business, I always put everything on record, because money is involved of course. Putting on record everything that was bought for our business and our day-to-day sales for us to monitor if we gain something or not. I’m also very careful on the items that I bought for our store, I’m doing some research on what is the demand, what our customers need. Every day I’m learning to manage our small business. On the very first day I was exhausted that I already slept around 11:00 pm because I arranged our items plus you have a toddler around while I’m arranging the store. Then I checked every item and for the price we only added 25% mark-up in every item. For fast moving items we only added a 20% mark-up. Even though it’s exhausting sometimes because my toddlers are very adventurous when I have a customer my focus is divided to my toddlers and I apologize always for the inconvenience but as day passed since we started, I’m enjoying what I’m doing right now and things seems to go with the flow. The very start is really the hardest but as times goes by it becomes easy and things go as planned.
This business was really a great help to us. When there is no customer I organized the store, for me it’s really good to see that everything was in place.
We really thank God for this blessing that he gave to us this year, looking forward for more learnings and manifesting that our business would expand and grow.
Being a full-time mom and now an owner of a small store was a privilege for me, I’m living my life right now full of gratitude and knowing that I can take care my children and at the same time help on our finances, I’m beyond blessed.
