FLOATING VILLAGE // View of floating buildings in the magical village of Kuala Langsa

Happy New Year to all my beloved hive friends ❤️

In this post I will share my experience when visiting Kuala Langsa village or often called floating village. I have visited this village several times but I have only explored about 50% of this village, there are still many places and areas that I have not explored and that is the curiosity that makes me want to continue visiting it, besides being able to see the uniqueness of the buildings and infrastructure, there we can also learn from life that is different from life in general, for example our public transportation now is motorbikes and cars and in floating villages they even more commonly use boats or boats for daily life.

Rivers are a common sight there, but what differentiates them is the large rivers and small rivers. Rivers are also quite an important area for local residents because this is where their livelihoods are, in my opinion, more than 60% of the residents who live in this village work as fishermen, and we can immediately see that as soon as we arrive in this village.

The question is, where do the local people store or park their boats.? Some houses are built on the water surface, they often park their boats behind the house, but there are also some houses that are right on the edge of the river so they will make a small pier specifically for parking their boats. In this village we can also find lots of small ports where boats and large boats can be parked.

I managed to find a harbor where two large boats were already parked there, each boat must have an owner, so before getting on the boat I asked permission first. The little information I knew about the large boats, for these, they would sail to the open sea and would return within a week or more, unlike the small boats, they would sail for only a day

Look at this view, you can see a river with a fairly large size and on the edge there are several buildings such as houses and cafes. To be able to build a building directly on the ground, people have to fill in the river first, but for people with lower to middle economic status, maybe they will think twice about doing it and it will be more cost-effective if they build a house directly on the water surface.

Look at how many boats are parked on the riverbank, see how the local people have built a small harbor as a parking place for their boats.

I was quite happy when I saw this view, I can learn many things here and it is also about how the local community makes good use of the conditions around them. Oh yes, my friends and I also have another purpose for visiting this village, namely to fishing, here we can find many rivers of various sizes, the rivers are also still filled with mangrove trees which are fish nests, it is not surprising that we managed to find many new friends in this place who have the same hobby as us, namely fishing.
