In my case, @ifarmgirl, I think there's only one solution to the scenario you've presented in this week's prompt: leave.
If I were ever at a party or somewhere else and discovered someone talking badly about me to other people at the party, the only thing I would do is leave.
You might be thinking, "Why are you leaving? Are you bothered by what they're saying? Are you bothered because it's true?"
No. None of that.
The only reason I stay at a party is because I enjoy being there. If I hear someone talking badly about me, it's because they don't like me or have something against me, for some reason, known or unknown to me.
I'm not even interested in knowing what they're saying or why. If I confront them to find out, the situation could escalate to physical violence, and that's not worth it.
So, one way or another, the party would be ruined for me. So, the best solution would be to leave and continue my party somewhere else, with more pleasant people and surroundings.
What I can't do is give any weight to that person or what they say or do about me. By leaving the party, I close that unpleasant chapter and move on with my life as if nothing happened.
Why am I not interested in what they say? Because it's not true. Why isn't it true? Because if I had done something wrong, they would tell me to my face.
Those who go around talking badly about others behind their backs are cowards, liars. Therefore, neither they nor what they say are worth a second of my time.

En mi caso, @ifarmgirl, creo que solo hay una solución para este supuesto que nos propone en el prompt de esta semana: irme.
Si algún día llegara a una fiesta u otro lugar y descubriera que alguien está hablando mal de mí, a otras personas de la fiesta, lo único que haría es irme.
Podrían pensar ¿Por qué te vas? ¿Te molesta lo que dicen? ¿Te molesta porque es cierto?
No. Nada de eso.
La única razón por la que permaneczco en una fiesta es porque disfruto estar ahí. Si me entero de que alguien habla mal, es porque le caigo mal o tiene algo en contra mía, por alguna razón, conocida o desconocida por mí.
Ni siquiera me interesa saber qué es lo que dice o por qué. Si lo encaro para que me diga, podría escalar la situación a lo físico y eso no vale la pena.
De modo que, de una forma u otra, la fiesta se me desgraciaría. Así que, la mejor solución sería irme y seguir mi fiesta en otro lado, con personas y ambientes más agradables que aquel.
Lo que no puedo hacer es darle valor a aquella persona ni a lo que dice de mí o hace. Al irme de la fiesta, ya cierro ese capítulo desagradable y continúo con mi vida como si nada hubiera sucedido.
¿Por qué no me interesa lo que dice: porque no es cierto. ¿Por qué no es cierto? Porque si hubiera hecho algo malo, me lo dijeran de frente.
Aquellos que se dedican a hablar mal de otros a sus espaldas son unos cobardes, unos embusteros. Por tanto, ni ellos ni lo que dicen valen un segundo de mi pensamiento.
