As usual, when the sun began to shine, I took a moment to walk in the open nature. The world was still damp with morning dew. Along the path I was walking, there were many leaves that looked very fresh, as if they had just awakened from a long sleep. I continued to scan my surroundings, hoping to find something to capture.
Continuing to observe, I suddenly caught sight of a beetle standing proudly on a branch of a plant. It seemed to be watching over its kingdom. This beetle is very small, and if our vision is not sharp enough, it can be very difficult to spot. Moreover, it likes to hide under dense foliage. As I found it, it was on a branch protected by leaves.
While I was busy photographing it, it suddenly changed position. It flew up to the surface of the leaf and stood on the edge. Perhaps it had realized that I was not its enemy, but rather someone who admired it. So it took a position that made it easier for me to enjoy the beauty of every detail of its body. Even though it had moved, photographing it was still difficult, given its very small size.
When the sun's reflection hit her tiny body, it sparkled like a tiny gem falling onto a green leaf. Her long antennae were constantly moving, as if she was trying to engage me in conversation. Unfortunately, I didn't understand her code yet. I guess I need to learn insect language😅
In Latin, this beetle is known as Lema rufotestacea, a member of the Chrysomelidae family. I don't know the Indonesia or English name for this beetle yet. However, I often call it the brownish-orange leaf beetle. What's the name of this beetle in your area? Let me know in the comments.
