Kecombrang flower

in Nature Observer11 days ago

For those of you who like to cook or like to walk around the farm, you must be familiar with this beautiful flowering plant. Here, in my area, the name of this plant is known as kecombrang and in English it is known as torch ginger. While in Latin this plant is known as Etlingera elatior, which is one of the spice plants that comes from the Zingiberaceae family.

The flower was alone there, standing majestically among the strong and tall stems. It looks like an angel who is surrounded by many princes. Even though she hid with all her might behind the sturdy stems and large leaves, I still managed to find her. The color is very bright, making it easy for me to find her. Even though the flower is small, I managed to see it from a distance.

In addition, this kecombrang flower is also a unique flower, look at its shape, it looks like a burning torch. The flower stalk is very long, about one meter from the ground. The stalk appears directly from the ground. Its thick petals are arranged very closely together. The flower I found has just started to bloom, look at the bottom petals that are fully bloomed. The blooming process is quite long, up to a month. Slowly starting from the bottom to the top.
