Gray swift butterfly

in Nature Observer9 days ago

On a seemingly simple green leaf, a gray swift butterfly rested peacefully. The butterfly had a very simple coloration, its entire body brown with a few white spots on its wings. It may have looked quite ordinary, but it wasn't just a color. It was the story of its life, the days it had gone through. It might have been drenched in rain, or the hot sun that burned its body. But it never complained, let alone gave up.

This gray swift butterfly is one of the small, plump butterflies from the Hesperiidae family. Besides its plump body, it also has dense feathers. These feathers are thick, like a winter jacket. Perhaps that's why this butterfly is so active early in the morning. Its body is protected by a thick jacket. The one I found wasn't flying, but rather resting for a moment.

Its wings were tightly closed, completely motionless. Only its antennae moved. It moved them very gently, each movement seemingly filled with care. Her beautiful, jet-black eyes stared straight ahead, ready to survey the world. Her slender feet gripped the leaf she perched on tightly to maintain her balance.
