Charagochilus longicornis

in Nature Observer13 days ago

Among the lush green leaves, a tiny insect stood proudly on the tip of one of the leaves. The insect I encountered was incredibly small, so small that many eyes didn't even notice its presence. It stood firmly and calmly on the leaf, looking like a tough explorer ready to explore the wilderness.

At first glance, this insect looked ordinary, but upon closer inspection, its back bore a beautifully intricate pattern. The pattern resembled a carving that was difficult to describe in words. A pair of long, delicate antennae stood upright, like a Wi-Fi pole, ready to reach the entire area. A pair of round eyes were ready to monitor its surroundings. And its long legs gripped tightly to the leaf's surface.

I found this insect by accident, I didn't hunt it. I found it while I was enjoying the colorful flowers in the garden. This insect is called Charagochilus longicornis, the Latin name I found on inaturalist when I uploaded my observations there. I don't know the Indonesian or English name yet. If any of you know the name of this insect, please feel free to let me know in the comments section.
