The Children's Department

Hello, everyone!

I want to share a story of how my relationship with the children was so dear to my heart, and it was a divine orchestration that I couldn't escape.

However, in my local church, I had the opportunity to join the children's department to teach the children, but I did not have the skills or the passion to do that. There was a day my children's teacher in my local assembly persuaded me to join the children's department, but I declined.

Coming over to my youth church, I had the same approach from the children's teacher to join the children's department but I declined. So there was a day we had a service, and my pastor talked about purpose, and I asked God, "I am a teacher, how do you want me to start teaching, He said Gather children around you and teach". I gathered the children and taught them. I couldn't continue to the very end because of school and other engagements.

Moreover, I came over to Kaduna State for my service, and I was given a leadership role in NCCF. I filled it and submitted it, they interviewed me, and it was tailored to the Assistant General Secretary position. In NCCF Kaduna State, Assistant General Secretary, one of the core responsibilities is to be the head of CTBC, that's Children and Teenagers Bible Club. My predecessor gave me the roles and rules of the office. She said, "You are the head of CTBC." In my mind, I was what? I was running away from this responsibility but now there's no running away. This God eh!

I stayed in that office for 6 months teaching these children every Saturday. I had visions, direction on how to go about it and I built substantial relationships with their parents too. It was a wonderful experience I had with these little children and I enjoyed them. I learned a lot about children's ministry.

It was a wonderful experience to be with the children and my eyes were opened to learn the language of the children and how to relate with them.
