As parents most of the time, we often dream of seeing our children not just succeed but thrive in every aspect of life far beyond the heights we could ever reach. Every stage of our kids' lives feels like a journey with a new mountain to climb, and as parents we often find ourselves at those stages dishing out life lessons like seeds, with the hope and belief that every one of them would take root and yield fruit at just the right time.
Seriously, I would say that it’s really hard for me to rank which of these lessons is the most because, in truth, every one of them plays a unique and indispensable part in shaping who they become as an individual.
But for the sake of this week's prompt, I will narrow it down to just three lessons that are especially relevant to me now.

1️⃣ Take God seriously
We now live in a woke world, and many values seem to be diluted. This generation has reduced God to a second option when all things have failed. I will tell my kids to take God seriously and draw close to him. I will make them understand that the Bible isn’t just an old storybookbut a living, breathing guide that guides and directs you when the world spins. They should hide His Word in their hearts, let it shape their decisions, and find strength in prayer daily.
Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.
2️⃣ Do away with Entitlement Mindset
In this part of the world where I live, people often get angry when people they feel should help them don't help them, and they blame this set of people for their failures. I will tell my kids that no one owes them anything. Success is earned, not granted. I will encourage them to work smart with integrity, and they need to understand that every blessing comes with a responsibility. If they do away with the entitlement mentality, on their own they will get to learn self-reliance and perseverance and also find satisfaction in seeing how their own effort turns into reward and blessings.
3️⃣ Be genuinely Kind
Different people are going through a lot they can't share with others; showing them a little kindness would go a long way. You don't need to know someone to be kind to them. Kindness isn’t a weakness; it’s a superpower.
