I never expected my life to change with a phone call, but it did. It all happened one day on April 4, when, being at home with my girlfriend, the local phone rang and I got up from the sofa, where I was with Maria, to take the call.
When I answered, a woman's voice, not known, asked for me, and when I said that it was me and asked what I wanted, the woman told me that she was calling from a company where she had applied for a job, and told me that she had an appointment with the people from the Human Management office the next day.
After going to the meeting, listening to the company's offer and after accepting the terms of the hiring, I was informed that I would start working with them in the next fortnight.
When I arrived at the house, I hugged Maria and told her the news of my new job. At that moment, neither she nor I knew that this job was going to change our lives, and we just celebrated getting it as a common fact in our life.
However, now that I analyze it, that call and the start in that job changed our lives in a positive way. There I managed to make a lot of progress, and I received several promotions and the opportunity to finish my master's degree, and now, after four years, I will be appointed the youngest regional manager of the company.
And really, it's amazing to see how a simple phone call and accepting a job could change our lives from one moment to the next and in such a positive way that it gave us economic stability and the possibility of starting a family, something that four years ago was just a dream for me and Maria.

Roberto estaba sentado en la clase, pero lejos de prestar atención al Nunca esperé que mi vida cambiara con una llamada, pero lo hizo. Todo ocurrió un día 4 de abril, cuando, estando en casa con mi novia, sonó el teléfono local y me levanté del sofá, donde estaba con María, para tomar la llamada.
Cuando atendí, una voz de mujer, no conocida, preguntó por mí, y al decir que era yo y preguntar qué deseaba, la mujer me dijo que estaba llamando de una empresa donde había solicitado empleo, y me dijo que tenía una cita con las personas de la oficina de Gestión Humana al día siguiente.
Después de ir a la reunión, escuchar la oferta de la empresa y después de aceptar los términos de la contratación, me informaron que comenzaría a trabajar con ellos en la próxima quincena.
Al llegar a la casa, abracé a María y le di la noticia de mi nuevo empleo. En ese momento, ni ella ni yo sabíamos que ese empleo iba a cambiar nuestras vidas, y solo celebramos la obtención del mismo como un hecho común en nuestra vida.
Sin embargo, ahora que lo analizo, esa llamada y el inicio en ese empleo cambiaron nuestras vidas en positivo. Ahí logré avanzar bastante, y recibí varios ascensos y la oportunidad de terminar mi maestría, y ahora, después de cuatro años, seré nombrado el gerente regional más joven de la empresa.
Y de verdad, es increíble ver cómo una simple llamada y el aceptar un trabajo pudieron cambiarnos la vida de un momento para otro y de una manera tan positiva que nos dio estabilidad económica y la posibilidad de iniciar una familia, algo que hace cuatro años era solo un sueño para mí y para María.
