It's really funny how we humans handle certain things sometimes, but humans will always be human, you know.
If unfortunately we fall sick today, obviously, everything about us will pause. Our job, our family duties, and personal stuff to catch up with and deep down within, we will wish to be fit again to continue our daily hustles and bustles of life. But then, why is it that we hardly think of prevention rather than facing the sickness?

Perhaps we are too busy; that's why, but the moment we can't raise our hands, we will start wishing to have done the right thing. I am not saying that we can be so intentional about our health to prevent sickness completely, but it could be reduced to a large extent through our intentional actions by practicing a routine healthy lifestyle.
Maintaining good health is not all about taking medications to be alright but about intentional practices to observe in order to prevent the sickness to a large extent from happening in the first place.
I believe no one wants to break down, but it happens, and then the moment we recover, we still find ourselves neglecting important healthy practices, waiting for when the next illness surfaces. A lot of people are victims of these, but staying healthy is doable.
There are things I started doing even before sickness came, and that has made me stay out of sickness for a long time. Like, I can't remember the last time I took paracetamol, not to talk of treating malaria or typhoid, etc. One of these things I started practicing even before sickness surfaces is listening to my body.
Once I feel so stressed and weak, I slow down, lay aside every pending task, and rest. Remember, resting doesn't imply that you are lazy. I embrace rest and feel rejuvenated, and this way, I escape sickness. Another simple practice is getting enough hydration. As simple as water is, I discovered it is a great medicine for the body to flush out stuff, and so I don't joke with my water every now and then and instead of taking cola when I feel dehydrated, I go for a constant intake of water. Good enough, the difference has been clear.
Before I started constant water intake, I noticed how often I used to feel drained and weary, but not anymore.
Another simple practice I do to prevent sickness from tracing my home address is eating right. Junks has been a bygone in my home for a long time. Even with a budget, I learned to eat right without allowing what I consume to deal with my health.
Finally, I do observe some physical exercises, and this time with my hubby, it makes it more romantic each time, and so, I crave more, staying more healthily in the process.
Overall, I don't allow my mind to get cluttered with irrelevant things but strive to stay joyful and happy amidst life's storms.
