Winding the clock back a long time with this one. It was a tune that I had hidden away on my Soundcloud for a few years.
I was living with one half of the 55BPM duo for a year in a flat and we worked on a tune or two over that time, I'll be sharing our Christmas one very soon.
They specialised in lo-fi, ambient and chilled out tunes, both very talented guitarists, trumpet players, pianists, violin and when they harmonised together on the vocal, it was spiritual.
The other half of 55BPM was a drum and bass fan and when she found out I made dnb too, she asked if I would be interested in remixing one of their tunes. I listened in to Clockwork lives and it really resonated with me, both melodically and lyrically.
If I remember rightly, the original was about a break-up and getting through it all and I was going through something similar myself so felt right.
Although I don't think my flatmate was too enamoured with the remix at the end of it all, the dnb fan loved it so I posted it on my Soundcloud and it got some great comments as people enjoyed it.
