Yesterday I gave you you all tour of a part of the Topkapi Palace, giving an insight on how the royals of those times would dress. They lived in total luxury in every way. The Palace is huge, so if you want to see it thoroughly then probably you will need one whole day, but I did not have so much of time at hand so it was done in a quicker way. Some areas which were not of our interest we skipped, like the artillery and even the kitchen part.
Today I will like to give a glimpse of the other parts of the Palace which were used for different purpose like meetings, library, prayer room, garden area. Every nook and corner of the palace is finely designed and it reflects the richness of the royals.
That's the garden area. I am sure in those days it must be very different, but still it will be a garden only and may be better then what we see now, considering how they maintained every single thing.
Every entrance had inscriptions in Arabic, I am sure they have some holy significance. Also the tile work and other designs are admirable. Turkish designs are world famous. When I was building my new home there were quite a few areas where I did tiling with Turkish designs and they do look attractive.
That's one of the meeting rooms
The fine intricate designs on the ceiling and walls gives a very good charm to the place. Some parts have been renovated but a lot of it remains from the olden times. I guess only the painting must be done time and again to retain the beauty of the palace.
That's a library room
The Palace has a 360 degree view, on one side is the sea view and on the other side the full city can be seen. The position is very strategic to have a complete view of the city from all sides.
That's a fragment of the world map made by one of their scholars in the 16th century
Love the views out here.
Not sure what exactly this was used for, but looks pretty.
Another state room
Here the ceiling has a different design. Every room of the Palace has a unique design and every single one of them are attractive.
There is still much more to the Palace. The most attractive part of this Palace is it's Treasury. The collection there is something beyond one's imagination. I will share that shortly.
Thank you for visiting my blog. 👼🏻👼🏻💖💖🌹🌺🌸
