Child marriage we believe is something of the past, but that's not right, there are some parts of the world where child marriage is still allowed and by the age of 9 to 10 the girl is married to a man of double or triple of her age. Then she is sexually abused as well. What a shame it is to do such a thing. It's a age where any child needs to study, be playful and enjoy her childhood, but then she is forced in to a marriage, for which she has no complete understanding about what's happening to her life.
I follow a group on Insta called Womaniyaco, and here daily they share such stories. When I read them, I cannot believe that such things are still happening in the world. Women, Children are constantly abused in the name of religion, rituals and culture. I cannot understand what type of society behavior is this. To be again very realistic, these are the sects where no one has any control. Nor the UN or any other body can do anything to them. These are monsters of the society. Personally, I believe that they are just animals who, in the name of religion and culture, do these things. No religion teaches to rape a child or even an adult.
We talk about women empowerment and all, but when I see these things, I feel we are still very far from empowerment. Even if it's happening to 10% of the overall population, it is a lot. Will women ever be completely free from the lustful desires of man. The other day, I read somewhere, a man saying that he raped a child in another country from his origin, because he was not aware that child rape is illegal there. I do not understand which country allows child rape, or child marriage.
These cases are exposed every day and yet there is no change. There are no strict laws and governance which can scare these monsters, and that's why they feel that it is their dominance and they can do whatever they want to the females. There are some countries where there is zero tolerance for such practices and very strict capital punishments are given and hence you do not see such things happening in these places. If every country does this, then it can make so much difference, but the fact is that some of them do not want to because they are not bothered for what's happening to children and women.
While it may be happening in one part of the world, It's still a disgrace and shame to entire humanity to put children through such traumatic experiences from which probably they would not heal for life.
