Housewives used to do this because I saw it as a child with my mother: they would save cups and give sets of coffee cups labeled with special days like Mother's Day or Merry Christmas.
This, of course, would fill a display case with gifts of this type, especially the ones for drinking coffee. This is truly comical because of how many sets of cups my mother saved. Now at home, I realize that it's better to buy what's necessary. If one breaks, take out the one that's been stored, and so on. When there are no more left, new and updated ones are bought in models and colors, which have varied greatly: different, eye-catching, large, small, and so on.
So, stored coffee cups are not enjoyed, and when we leave this earthly plane, we don't take them with us. We must use them and do our best to avoid filling our display cases with cups.
