Leading Lines
In photography, leading lines or direction lines are lines in the frame of a photograph that have been deliberately aligned, i.e., before taking the picture, by adjusting its composition, either by moving the camera, or by moving the body.
These lines can be straight, curved, vertical, horizontal or diagonal, and the result is lines that lead or orient the viewer, increasing their attention and allowing for a more pleasurable and enjoyable viewing experience.
This pair of photographs from my personal archive, I took some months ago while doing some food shopping in a supermarket in my city, and where you can see different aisles with shelves and products on the sides.
Particularly, I was struck by the symmetrical arrangement of lighting fixtures, pipes and air conditioning ducts in a roof without cladding, an architectural trend that from time to time comes into force, projecting a feeling or "industrial" air, besides saving costs during construction.
As I have described in previous publications, I used the editing tools offered by Picsart and Snapseed applications to intervene the original image to my satisfaction.
En la fotografía, las líneas maestras o líneas de dirección son líneas existentes en el encuadre de una fotografía que han sido alineadas deliberadamente, es decir, antes de tomar la foto, ajustando su composición, bien sea desplazando la cámara, o moviendo el cuerpo.
Estas líneas pueden ser rectas, curvas, verticales, horizontales o diagonales, y el resultado son líneas que conducen u orientan al observador, aumentando su atención y permitiendo una experiencia visual más placentera y agradable.
Este par de fotografías de mi archivo personal, las tomé algunos meses atrás mientras hacía algunas compras de alimentos en un supermercado de mi ciudad, y donde pueden observarse diferentes pasillos con anaqueles y productos a los lados.
Particularmente, me llamó la atención la disposición simétrica de las luminarias, tuberías y ductos de aire acondicionado en un techo desprovisto de recubrimiento, una tendencia arquitectónica que de vez en cuando cobra vigencia, proyectando una sensación o aire "industrial", además de ahorrar costos durante la construcción.
Tal como lo he descrito en publicaciones anteriores, usé las herramientas de edición que ofrecen las aplicaciones Picsart y Snapseed para intervenir las imágenes originales a mi entera satisfacción.
