Hi there creatives, trust you all are doing great!
Today I'm excited to share another new creation.
It's been a while a made a dress with African print (Ankara) fabric. But this time my client who's also a neighbor at home came in with this fabric and asked me to make the dress for her.

Ankara is a beautiful type of fabric that is rooted in Indonesian batik and dutch textile production and the fabric gained popularity in west Africa. And over time Ankara fabric became deeply intertwined with African culture and we have been making colorful outfits from them different designs.

So she brought the fabric, I discussed the price with her, and as usual she said "you know we're neighbors, you should give me this discounted price" well, finally we agreed on a particular price and I started work.
I retook her measurements in case some things have changed after the last time I did her dress, and I had to use a few hours for the job.

I laid down the fabric, I input all her measurements and cut out the dress pieces and also their linings. This is a free long dress that is cut with the sleeve together so cutting was easy, it's always easy when you know the right calculations.

After cutting I went straight to my machine and started sewing. I joined the lining of them all to the main bodice starting from the neckline.

After the lining was ready and the dress was properly ironed, and I joined couples the dress and it was ready, and I ironed it to relax properly. And as you see in the image below it was already looking nice and cute.

Its important to always put in a good work when making a clients dress even the smallest of them because you might not know the recommendations you get in the future, I put my heart in making this dress, she wanted something very simple amd free and that is what I gave her and she absolutely loved it!
I hope you liked this one, and I'm excited to share more with you all soon. Thank you for your time here, and I'll see you all next time!
