When I first heard about resin art, I was captivated by the sheer beauty of the creations, the bright colors, intricate details, and the endless possibilities to express oneself. The idea of crafting something unique felt like an exciting adventure. But living in a town where materials for such crafts aren’t readily available posed its own challenges.
I had to order for the materials from a nearby town since I didn't see them in my town and after a little delays and all that, the materials arrived to me and I set out to try out this thing I've learned online. I also involved my sister @yummycruz1 and we were both trying it out.
So today I'll share with you how I made 2 special Keychains, one with the initial of my name and the other with the full name of my little niece, Sunshine!
So to begin I get my ingredients and keep them ready to start working:
Materials Used
Here’s a list of the materials I used to create the keychains:
Epoxy resin and hardner 1:1 ratio
Mica powder
Liquid color pigments
Mixing bowl
Popsicle sticks
Hand gloves
Manual scale for measurement
I started by mixing equal parts of epoxy resin and hardener in a bowl. Using a popsicle stick, I stirred the mixture thoroughly.
Next I added a bit of liquid color pigment, I chose black for what I wanted
After adding the black pigment I mixed it properly for minutes until it thickened a bit
I then poured it into the alphabet keychain mold
I then added the gold foil as design and then some dry purple flowers to beautify it more
After that I added gold mica powder I the remaining mixture to make an S shape keychain. After mixing properly I poured it into an S shape mold
So I let them dry and it took about 6 hours for it to dry properly.
It was looking really beautiful after it dried well
I also added some alphabet paper stickers, I used it to inscribe the name "Sunshine" on it since I wanted to dedicate it to my little niece and that's her name!
Trying resin art was an exciting journey that allowed me to express creativity in new ways. Working with my sister made it even more enjoyable, and dedicating a piece to my niece added a heartfelt touch. I’m looking forward to exploring more resin art projects in the future and learning more tricks.
The entire experience was more than just crafting; it was about creativity, patience, and sharing joy with loved ones. Each step, from mixing the resin to adding the final touches felt really amazing!
Looking at the finished keychains now, I feel a sense of pride and inspiration to explore more projects. Resin art such a fun idea, I loved learning and practicing how to do it.
Thank you all for your time here, I hope you liked it. I'll be sharing more of my creations here, so please stay tuned!!! And see you all next time 🤗
