All You Can Eat Comfort: Exploring Shabu Sai in Ueno

in Olio di Balena10 days ago

In our trip to Ueno, we decided to try eating at Shabu Sai. It's an all you can eat Shabu shabu and sukiyaki restaurant located at Sakura Terrace. Shabu shabu is a Japanese hot pot dish where thin slices of meat and veggies are cooked in a boiling broth and dipped in tasty sauces. The name comes from the swishing sound the food makes as it's stirred in the pot. It's a fun, hands-on meal that's great for sharing with family and friends.

The prices are reasonable for an all you can eat restaurant.

The restaurant is small and packed with customers. The delicious food and reasonable prices attract a lot of customers who would like to something hot and filling food. Aside from the delicious food, Shabu Sai offers warmth and comfort during cold weathers.

We ordered some pork and meatballs then headed to pick some vegetables and sauces. The self service bar is stocked with fresh vegetables, noodles, and rice.

We have two broths to cook our food in. There are several flavors of broth to choose from. Popular options include sukiyaki, soy milk, and tonkotsu for a customizable hotpot experience. Dipping sauces like ponzu and sesame are available to enhance the flavors.

The broth is delicious and watching the food cook as you eat is a fun dining experience.

We also ordered some meatballs. They're easy to cook and delicious.

The meat is cut so thin it cooks in about eight seconds.

Customers can also get their choice of drinks and some ice cream for dessert.

I got a swirl of soft serve ice cream from the self service machine. An enjoyable way to end a hearty hotpot meal.

Whether you're a first time visitor or a seasoned food enthusiast, Shabu Sai offers a delicious dining experience with its fresh and quality ingredients, customizable options, and welcoming atmosphere. It's an excellent choice for families, friends, or solo diners looking to enjoy a traditional Japanese hotpot meal in the heart of Tokyo. If you ever visit Tokyo, I highly recommend dining at Shabu Sai for its delicious food and reasonable prices!
