Ruby is the gem of Fire. It's a majestic crimson of a treasure that is used in rings, pendants, and earrings. This is a poem for some of the July babies around here and something nice for your birthstone.

Ruby
A spark of fire in velvet red,
A crown of heat where light is fed.
A color deep of crimson bright,
A drop of sunset caught in light.
It graces rings on steady hands,
Necklaces from distant lands.
A gem that's given to nobility.
A treasure handed down from aristocracy.
Not shy like pearls in gentle white,
Not pale or dull like fake light.
It dares to glow, to blaze, to gleam,
A living color, a scarlet dream.
On royal robes it once was sewn,
In ancient courts its power shown.
A stone for hearts that will not yield,
For love declared, not softly sealed.
When gifted, it is never small,
It speaks of depth, glare and all.
A promise told, a vow sincere,
A warmth that lingers year to year.
So when you see that crimson shine,
That steady spark is by design,
A jewel that will never be for harm.
A jewel that keeps the spirit warm.
