I reopened Splinterlands after having put it aside for a considerable amount of time. I was introduced to this game years ago by borrowing cards from other players and splitting the rewards. Because it is so similar to chess, playing Splinterlands was a blast for me.
Despite being centuries-old board games and fantasy-themed digital card games, Splinterlands and Chess share some similarities. Both are games of strategy that rewards thinking, anticipation of the opponent's moves and memorization.
Before making a move, players in Splinterlands must establish a solid position, just like in chess. The difference is that instead of using chess pieces, players in Splinterlands create a team of monsters with special abilities.
After being away from Splinterlands for so long, I had to get used to the new rules and cards when I got back. The gameplay remains unchanged, but the game has undergone numerous updates, including a new glint token and enhanced user interface.
I don't have a lot of cards so I'm using mostly the cards provided by the game. I'm just playing for fun at the moment, and I'm buying new cards from the shop with the glint I earned.
I still have some of my old cards that I use in the Silver League I play and it gives me some advantage. Green splinter is my best having a couple of legendary cards and Quora that I frequently use.
