When I think of the prompt "smooth" for this ZAPFIC50 Friday challenge, I think of the difficulties people face. Not every situation one faces is smooth. Bumps in the road will occur. Those times, we make the most of the situation and learn from the experience. How can we make it better? Should I have chosen another path. Numerous questions may prowl our thought and linger.
What I believe is that we make the best decisions with the information we have on hand at the current time. That's all that can be expected of us. I share my flash fiction by @felt.buzz along those lines. The story is told in exactly 50 words.
My story is below:
Amy watched flashing lights and loud sirens warn drivers.
Following behind, her mind raced recounting the experimental trials.
"A smooth process," the researcher assured.
Hands gripped the steering wheel. She dared not release.
The difficult decision not to support her mother attacked.
Will this be my inherited fate? she worried.

Cuando pienso en la palabra «suave» para este desafío del viernes de ZAPFIC50, me vienen a la mente las dificultades a las que se enfrentan las personas. No todas las situaciones a las que nos enfrentamos son suaves. Siempre hay baches en el camino.
