This is what happens when I go down a country road, a lonely one at that, and the heat and the time I've been walking take their toll on my body and I feel tired. So I decide to make a stop and allow a bunch of unfriendly mosquitoes to bite my neck and arms with more tranquility 😂.... I stop under the shade of a big tree at the side of the road and a few minutes later, when I feel that my body temperature has dropped a little, I sit on the ground to enjoy a light breeze which seems to be able to attenuate a little the presence of mosquitoes and other insects.... It's Monday morning, there's no one else walking here, so the silence and stillness make me feel the desire to just be there resting, but some dry leaves scattered on the ground catch my attention: they are big and very well formed, they look full of ochre tones and shapes on their surface, they also have some interesting textures. So a few minutes later I pick up some of them and hold them in my hands while I take some pictures... I love this, they are just dry leaves, I know, but there is a universe of shapes happening in them and revealing themselves to the rhythm of the light that is able to pass through the shade of the tree that shelters me...

Esto es lo que sucede cuando voy por un camino rural, uno solitario por cierto, y el calor y el tiempo que he estado caminando hacen mella en mi cuerpo y me siento cansado. Entonces decido hacer un alto y permitir que un montón antipáticos mosquitos pique mi cuello y brazos con mayor tranquilidad 😂... Me detengo bajo la sombra de un árbol grande a la orilla del camino y pocos minutos después, cuando siento que mi temperatura corporal ha bajado un poco, me siento en el suelo a disfrutar de una leve brisa la cual parece poder atenuar un poco la presencia de los mosquitos y otros insectos... Es lunes por la mañana, no hay nadie más caminando aquí, así que el silencio y la quietud hacen que sienta ganas de simplemente estar allí descansando, pero algunas hojas secas dispersas en el suelo llaman mi atención: son grandes y están muy bien formadas, lucen repletas de tonos ocres y de formas en su superficie, también tienen algunas texturas interesantes. Así que posos minutos después tomo algunas y las sostengo con mis manos mientras les hago algunas fotos... Amo esto, son simplemente hojas secas, lo sé, pero hay un universo de formas ocurriendo en ellas y revelándose al compás de la luz que logra pasar a través del árbol que me da cobijo...

I didn't simply take photographs of the whole body of the dried leaf or anything like that, no. My intention as soon as I had them in my hands was to extract the abstract in them, living there, as if some magical and complex little elf, who seems to use something so natural and simple, as a canvas to express his creative whims, had had them for a while in his hypothetical creative workshop and then had them back to his place, so that some weird guy like me, could take pictures of them... (Yes, today I didn't drink coffee in the morning, I just drank some mint tea, that's why I write these things, I think) 😂...

No hice simplemente fotografías de todo el cuerpo de la hoja seca o algo por el estilo, no. Mi intención apenas las tuve en mis manos fue la de extraer lo abstracto que hay en ellas, habitando allí, como si algún pequeño duende mágico y complejo, el cual pareciese usar algo tan natural y simple, como lienzo para plasmar sus antojos creativos, las hubiese tenido por un tiempo en su hipotético taller creativo y luego las hubiese a su lugar, para que algún tipo raro como yo, les hiciera fotos... (Sí, hoy no tomé café en la mañana, tan solo bebí un poco te infusión de mentas, es por eso que escribo estas cosas, creo) 😂...

They were then exported to JGP format on which minor modifications such as straightening and adding watermarks were carried out using PhotoScape v3.7}
