Hi Hive friends!
I still have many photos on my ipad during our trip to Hong Kong in 2014.
Let's talk about selfies.
Of course, when we arrived at the Hong Kong International Airport, our friend has a go-pro and took a group selfie or a groufie.
The next day, we visited Hong Kong Disneyland so we took many selfies from iPad, too.
Joan and I at the Mystique Manor.
Friends and I took a photo in the jungle place.
Joan and I at the Cinderella's merry-go-round.
Lastly, I had a conversation with Westerner backpackers from the UK and Australia.
I was curious how they got a job in the hostel.
This is where the idea of backpacking long term was born.
I talked to these two guys, I asked so many questions.
Basically, they were working in a hostel as a volunteer.
They got compensated anyway but the job was so fun.
They just need to take care of the other guests.
And if the guests have questions, they don't hesitate to answer.
They were staying in Hong Kong long term with their passports.
Philippines passports only allowed to stay in Hong Kong for 14 days so it is not ideal to do long term travel here.
They can show their guests around Hong Kong.
They can even party or go to the bars after shift.
They were traveling long term and enjoying Hong Kong with free accommodation and a compensation.
They have no problem staying longer in Hong Kong because they can just run to Macau and go back to Hong Kong and get another 30 days of stay at least.
As a Philippine passport holder, it really gave me the idea to stay 30 days in Malaysia, Thailand, or Myanmar. I even stayed in Taiwan for almost a month.
I had fun being a digital nomad.
Thanks to these guys for sharing their knowledge about longterm backpacking.
Maybe I can discuss about it in some other blogs.
Have you experienced living in another country for almost a month? How was it?
Ciao! See you on the next blog.
