Hola querida comunidad @ladiesofhive

What Is Hard to Say… and the Flavor of Memories

Hello dear @ladiesofhive community

Some questions seem to be about completely different topics, but after thinking about them, I realized they have something in common. Both emotions and food are part of our personal story. They connect us with who we are and with the people who have left their mark on our lives.

Which feelings or emotions do you find most difficult to open up about, and what helps to make it easier to share?

If there is one emotion I find difficult to express, it is sadness.

Not because I believe it is something negative, but because I have always tended to try to deal with my own feelings before sharing them with someone else.

As a physician, I spend much of my time listening to other people. Many patients need more than medical care; they also need someone who will listen without judging them.

Perhaps that is why, for many years, I believed I should always be the one offering support rather than asking for it.

Over time, I realized that keeping everything inside does not make us stronger.

On the contrary.

Emotions that never find a way out often stay with us much longer than they should.

Today, I try to speak openly whenever something truly worries me, especially with the people I trust.

I do not always need advice.

Very often, it is enough to know that someone is listening with genuine attention and understanding.

I have learned that opening your heart is not a sign of weakness.

It is a sign of trust.

And trust is one of the greatest gifts we can offer another person.

What food or dish will you remain loyal to for life, and why?

If I had to choose only one dish to eat for the rest of my life, it would be rice, beans, and roasted chicken.

It is not the most sophisticated or impressive meal.

But to me, it represents much more than food.

It reminds me of family meals, conversations around the table, and those Sundays when time seemed to move a little more slowly.

Over the years, I have tried many different recipes and I enjoy discovering new flavors.

Still, I always find myself returning to those simple meals that make me feel at home.

I believe food has a remarkable ability to awaken memories.

Sometimes a single aroma is enough to take us back to another stage of life or remind us of people we love.

That is why I remain loyal to this dish—not only because of its taste, but because of everything it represents.

It reminds me that some of life's greatest joys are also the simplest.

These questions reminded me that both our emotions and the flavors we cherish become part of who we are.

Learning to express what we feel and holding on to the memories that comfort us are two beautiful ways of taking care of ourselves.

Thank you for this space for reflection

A sincere hug to all 🤍

It's true what you said, that sometimes (or often), we just need an ear that genuinely listens without judgement. It's nice that you have learned to open up to people you trust.

Often, we value a dish or food that carries something significant to our hearts making it special❤️
