Walking, getting to know nature and the animal ecosystem is a dream in many people's lives, however, the vast majority do not have this opportunity to meet them. An alternative to solve this problem are zoos, a wonderful place that "adopts" wild animals that can be exhibited to the public. Today I will give you my 2nd experience in: The zoo complex in Ciego de Avila, Cuba 🇨🇺 .

Pasear, conocer la naturaleza y el ecosistema animal es un sueño en la vida de muchas personas, sin embargo, la gran mayoría no tiene esta oportunidad de conocerlos. Una alternativa para resolver este problema son los zoológicos, un maravilloso lugar que "adopta" animales salvajes que pueden ser exhibidos al público. El día de hoy les daré mi 2da experiencia en: El complejo parque zoológico de Ciego de Ávila, Cuba 🇨🇺 .

To start this tour, I present this church ⛪️ Methodist that caught my attention on my way to the zoo. The building looks great and very modern, according to the locals it is a Protestant Christian congregation, founded in the 19th century, mainly by American missionaries.
As you know it is dedicated to the support of people in need, help to the regional community, evangelical education and activities for youth and families.
Para iniciar este recorrido, les presento esta iglesia ⛪️ metodista que captó mi atención de camino al zoológico. La edificación se ve genial y muy moderna, según los lugareños es una congregación cristiana protestante, fundada en el siglo XlX, principalmente de misioneros estadounidenses.
Pues como ya saben se dedica al apoyo de personas necesitadas, ayuda a la comunidad regional, educación evangélica y actividades para jóvenes y familias.
Although this Zoo is not that big, it carries out a series of actions to preserve, conserve and protect the species in captivity, as well as the flora and the environment. These are developed through educational talks, recreational and cultural activities, tours of the animal exhibits providing information about the animals, contests and activities on environmental commemorative dates, training for workers, activities with the Environmental Circle of Interest, the campaigns “Clean the world and sow for the planet” and actions for reforestation and maintenance of irrigation.
Este Zoológico aunque no es tan grande, realiza una serie de Acciones para preservar, conservar y proteger las especies en cautiverio, así como la flora y el medio ambiente, estas se desarrollan a partir de las charlas educativas, actividades recreativas y culturales, recorridos por los exhibidores de los animales brindando información sobre los mismos, concursos y actividades en las fechas conmemorativas ambientales, capacitaciones a los trabajadores, actividades con el Círculo de Interés de Medio Ambiente, las campañas “A limpiar el mundo y sembremos por el planeta” y acciones para la reforestación y mantenimiento del regadío.
The entrance fee is 10 Cuban pesos for adults and 5 pesos for children, so once with the tickets in hand I start the tour, quite accessible and economical to tell the truth, there are no excuses not to visit it.
La entrada tiene un costo de 10 pesos cubanos para adultos y 5 pesos para niños, así que una vez con los boletos en la mano inicio el recorrido, bastante accesible y económico a decir verdad, no hay excusas para no visitarlo.
The first animal I saw on the tour was the hippopotamus that is usually on a shelf, much of the day and submerged in the water; but I was lucky enough to appreciate it while eating. 🤗
It is one of the big attractions because of its impressive size and curious behavior.
El primer animal que vi en el recorrido fue el hipopótamo que suele estar en un estante, gran parte del día y sumergido en el agua; pero tuve la suerte apreciarlo mientras comía. 🤗
Es una de las grandes atracciones por su tamaño impresionante y su comportamiento curioso.
As for the lion, chimpanzee, hyena and jaguar, they rested in their areas, without much encouragement to contact people. But at least they let us enjoy their fur and natural environment.
En cuanto a el león, chimpancé, la hiena y el jaguar descansaban en sus área, sin mucho ánimo de contactar con las personas. Pero al menos nos dejo disfrutar de sus pelajes y ámbito natural.
Although the space is modest, the park's caretakers strive to keep the animals in adequate and safe conditions, following basic feeding and welfare practices.
Aunque el espacio es modesto, los cuidadores del parque se esfuerzan por mantener a los animales en condiciones adecuadas y seguras, siguiendo prácticas de alimentación y bienestar básico.
The environment is tranquil with trails surrounded by tropical vegetation that give a sense of connection with nature.
Take some pictures of tender ducks, flamingoes and geese, which provided the best of welcomes. They are kept in small areas walking freely around the zoo, bringing life and soothing sounds to the environment.
El ambiente es tranquilo con senderos rodeados de vegetación tropical que dan un sensación de conexión con la naturaleza.
Tome algunas fotos de tiernos patos, flamenco y ocas o gansos, que brindaron la mejor de las bienvenidas. Se mantienen en pequeñas zonas caminando libremente por el zoológico, aportando vida y sonidos relajantes al entorno.
The most amusing are these geese, for me the most photogenic of the zoo, they let themselves be touched and even given food, a real pet birds.
Although it is a smaller complex compared to others in the country, its cozy atmosphere and diverse offerings make it a beloved place for locals and tourists.
Los más divertidos son estos gansos, para mi de los más fotogénicos del zoológico, se dejaban tocar y hasta darles comida, toda una mascota las aves.
A pesar de que es un complejo más pequeño en comparación con otros del país, su ambiente acogedor y su oferta diversa lo convierten en un sitio muy querido por locales y turistas.
Taking a catch 📸 home is almost a must when encountering some monkeys, they are very sociable with visitors, to the point of being a favorite attraction for children.
Llevarse una captura 📸 a casa es casi obligado en el encuentro con algunos monos, son muy sociables con los visitantes, al punto de ser una de las atracciones favoritas para los niños.
Founded several decades ago, this zoo has served as a space for environmental education and recreation, combining animal exhibits with green areas and rest areas for visitors.
Fundado hace varias décadas, este zoo ha servido como espacio de educación ambiental y recreación, combinando la exposición de animales con áreas verdes y zonas de descanso para los visitantes.
In the aviary exhibition spaces, there are also several species of national habitat such as the sparrowhawk, peacock 🦚 with their beautiful plumage and small ducks, all giving a special touch to the environment.
En los espacios expositivos aviarios, se encuentran también varias especies de hábitat nacional como el gavilán, pavo real 🦚 con sus hermosos plumajes y patos pequeños, todos dando un toque especial al ambiente.
Among the mammals closest to the walkers are the ponies, often used for small children's rides or simply to be observed while they graze quietly.
Very friendly and even went about their normal lives, without worrying about the staff.
Entre los mamíferos más cercanos a los caminantes están los ponis, que a menudo se utilizan para pequeños paseos infantiles o simplemente para ser observados mientras pastan tranquilamente.
Muy simpáticos e incluso seguían con su vida normal, sin preocuparse del personal.
I was also impressed by many posters 🪧 in the space in general, for the protection of them, regret the indiscipline and behavior of some parents and children because, “there are many who throw stones, branches and food to animals, scratch the banners or throw garbage out of the baskets”. Therefore, transforming behaviors in favor of environmental care has to be a daily premise.
There is so much fauna and novelties that
there is no time to enjoy them all calmly, unfortunately there was too much sun ☀️, too much heat and the time passed quickly.
Me impresiono además muchos carteles 🪧 en el espacio en general, para la protección de ellos, lamentan las indisciplinas y el comportamiento de algunos padres e hijos pues, “no son pocos los que tiran piedras, ramas y comida a los animales, rayan las pancartas o echan la basura fuera de los cestos”. Por ello, transformar conductas a favor del cuidado medioambiental tiene que ser premisa día a día.
Hay tanta fauna y novedades que
no hay tiempo para disfrutarlos todos con calma, por desgracia había demasiado sol ☀️, mucha calor y el tiempo pasó rápido.
